Rulei Viña Barracallo - Chemin de Pierres - 14.5% White
Crafted from Viura sourced from the Barracallo vineyard (planted in 1985) alongside Verdejo from a neighbouring 2012 plot, both grown on poor, alluvial gravel soils in Castañares de Rioja. These demanding conditions push the vines to their limits, concentrating character and depth into every grape.
A gastronomic white wine with structure and precision — generous and textured on the palate, yet defined by a vibrant acidity that brings freshness and energy despite its extended ageing.
Limited production of just 2,005 bottles.
Varieties: 60% Viura, 40% Verdejo
Ageing: 24 months in 225L French oak barrels
Winemaking: Fermented in stainless steel
Tasting Notes:
Layers of white and yellow-fleshed fruit, complemented by hints of bay leaf, green coffee, and dry countryside herbs. Subtle notes of pepper and clove unfold over a refined base of liquorice and delicate honey. On the palate, it is precise and expressive, with vibrant acidity, characteristic varietal bitterness, and nuances of green orange and star anise, finishing with a lingering floral lift.
